Officiating
Want to know the best way to watch your kids race and to learn more about swimming!?
Become an Official!
Competitions can not run without officials. At Bluefins, we encourage all parents, and older swimmers if interested in officiating, to become an official.
The Swimming Canada system for Officials, REMs , allows you to enrol in clinics, enter deck experiences and track your progress through the different levels of officiating. See below for instructions to help you with completing your activation process, instructions for signing up to clinics and recording deck experiences.
FIRST STEP :
1) Reactivate your profile from 2024-2025 season (refer to attached document “Creating/Activating Official Profile (REMS)”) OR
2) Request a new profile by completing the following form: Official Profile Request Forms
Once I create your profiles, you will receive an email from noreply+BBFBeaconsfieldBluefins@sportlomo.com, with your access.
Did you know?
Once you have your profile activated, you can take eLearning clinics at your own time and pass for the following positions (English only)
● Introduction to Swimming Officiating (formerly Timekeeper)
● Safety Marshal
● Chief Timekeeper
● Clerk of Course (Admin Desk)
● Canadian Para Swimming Online Deck Officials
For all questions: officials@bluefins.ca
Different positions and levels in officiating
As an official, it is your responsibility to update and track required deck evaluation (deck experience) in REMS and to notify officials@bluefins.ca when you have met the criteria to obtain the next level of certification. We will then verify your qualifications and submit the request to the Fédération de Natation du Québec (FNQ), which issues the official certification.
