Samantha Nicholson-Jodoin
Competitive Coach, Masters Lead, Age Group 1
Coach Sam is a tough but fair coach, who aims to prepare her swimmers to set themselves up for success both in and out of the pool. Teaching through example, she strives to pass down as much knowledge to the next generation of swimmers as possible. She has been teaching for 8 years, and coaching winter swimming for 6. She launched her coaching career at PCSC, after retiring from the sport she loved but not wanting to leave the pool deck. She has coached all age groups between her time coaching at PCSC and BBF, helping athletes push their limits and achieve goals they thought otherwise out of reach. Her studies in Mechanical Engineering allow for her to analyze technique from a mechanical standpoint, helping to break down strokes and build them back up while being backed by physics. Allowing her extensive use of spreadsheets to track each and every swimmer’s progress, Coach Sam is always trying to find a new creative way to target skills, and to measure improvement in the sport. Aiming to motivate and challenge the athletes while creating a healthy relationship with the sport and between teammates, Coach Sam is ready to coach the BBF team to overcome every obstacle on their path to success.

I have coached swimming for the past three years, and it’s been an amazing
experience. I’ve had the chance to work with swimmers of many different ages and skill levels, helping them feel more confident in the water and improve their strokes.
My focus as a coach is to make practices both challenging and fun while pushing my swimmers to reach their own personal goals. I love seeing the progress these
athletes make, whether it’s learning a new skill, dropping time in a race, or just feeling more confident in their capabilities. Coaching has taught me a lot about leadership and teamwork, and I’m excited to keep growing as a coach here at the Bluefins while helping swimmers reach their fullest potential.

Mini Comp Coach
I have coached diving for two summers and have been swimming competitively at Bluefins for 10 years. I also have participated in all sorts of water sports at my local summer pool since I was 5. I am very excited to finally be someone that younger swimmers might look up to, as I did with my coaches. I find it very important for kids to have fun during their practices while also working on perfecting their technique. I will try to push my swimmers as far as they want to bring themselves so they can be their best versions while still enjoying the sport. I look forward to meeting all my swimmers as well as to work with an incredible roster of coaches.
