Congratulations to everyone who attended TOP CUP in Etobicoke from May 13th to May 15th.
Although we were one of the smallest club attending this meet, Bluefins demonstrated tremendous team spirit, everyone cheered at the top of their lungs and everyone swam incredibly well; numerous best times and AA standards were achieved over the weekend.

The top 20 in each semi-final will move onto the finals at Cote Saint-Luc pool. The event takes place Saturday, May 28th.

The Bluefins Board is very happy and proud to present Sarah Bartosh as our new Head Coach. Sarah will be on board full-time June 1st, but will be working with the Elite and 4A groups specifically; and the current assistant coaches in general, to ensure all groups have a smooth transition (training and competition) through the month of May.

Sarah comes to us with an amazing package of experience and expertise. Her unique combination of education, coaching, private sector and life experience gives Bluefins a mature and well rounded leader that will help all our swimmers and the club in general reach new heights. She has had success in every area of life she has entered. Sarah will be an excellent manager of all stakeholder relationships, including parents and swimmers. The Board and Sarah are fully aligned with the vision that Bluefins be a positive, fun and safe life experience for all skill levels of swimmers at any age. (Please see her Bio attached) However Sarah was, and has worked with high performance athletes, so achieving any competitive goal will be possible under her guidance at Bluefins.

02-22-2016AAA Gatineau/Easterns
Over the last two weeks, the Fins participated in 3 major competition. From the 12-14 seven swimmers raced at the provincial AAA championship in Gatineau. They swam to numerous best times. Alyssa Ball made 7 finals becoming the provincial champion in the 100 breast and earning a silver in the 200 breast. Other finalists included Aria Fortier, Nathaniel McCracken and Lauren Murphy.

Special thanks to the parents who help with the driving and Sue for doing a great job as chaperone.

This past weekend five swimmers swam at the Canadian Easterns cup. It was a fast meet. The finalist included Brandon Adams 5th place in the 50 back with a new club record and 12th in the 50 free. Johnny Wong also made the final in the 50 breast. The relay of Brandon Adams, Liam Robins, Jonny Wong and Nic Lebrun beat the club record in the 4x50 IM.

We also had a record broken at the regional valentines day meet. Cassandra Lefebvre broke the 8 and under 200 freestyle by over 5 seconds. Good Job! GO BIG FINS!!


Thank you very much to all who volunteered! Here is the information and the list of officials for this weekend.

To do our part in helping the environment, we will not be distributing water bottles so please bring your own.
It is a Championship meet so the uniform is even more important. Please wear black pants and white t-shirt.
The warm-ups are at 8:00 am and at 4:00 pm for finals
The referees, clerks of course and **safety marshalls for the first warm-ups need to check in 15 min. before the beginning of warm-up
The starters, stroke and turn judges, JAC, electronics, recorders and chief timers must arrive at the beginning of warm-up
The timers can check in 15 min. after the beginning of the first warm-up (8:15 or 4:15pm)

**Check carefully! Some timers are also doing safety marshall for the first warm-up and therefore need to check in earlier

Congratulations to everyone who participated at the Quebec City Aquafte swim meet on February 6th and 7th! Bluefins showed great spirit on the side of the pool and definitely showed great speed in the water. Everyone had a fantastic weekend, including the coaches and we are very proud of each swimmer over the weekend!

In Dom's group: Adam Mhari, Marie-Jeanne Gauthier, Samuel Nelson and Justin Villemure have all swam very well over the weekend! Numerous best times were achieved in the group.

In Mackenzie's group: Theo Roumeliotis, Teagan Cochrane, Paz Stabio and Florence Alexander have all achieve personal best times in every event that they swam!

In Johnny's group: Kevin Angelov, Gabrielle Coffin, Mackenzie Erickson, Justin Fontaine, Taylor Ishihara, Zoe Jack, Nolan McDonald, Tessa Mclennan, Zachary Nelson, Benjamin Savoure, Thomas Villemure and Tyler Zwirz all did an absolutely fantastic job over the weekend. They all swam either personal best times or very close to their personal best time. They are doing an amazing job.

In Evan's group: Carter Zwirz, Alexa Garcia-Gonzalez and Nicholas Unruh have all achieved personal best times in the events that they swam!

01-29-2015DDO/CSLA MEETS
Congratulations to all the Bluefins swimmers who participated at the DDO and Cote Saint Luc meet this past weekend. A club record was broken. Julien Halde broke the 100 IM record with a time of 1.23.35. Great swim! The championship meets are just around the corner. Lets keep working hard in the pool! GO BIG FINS!

12-10-2015AA/AAA Neptune Meet
The Fins from all groups competed at the Neptune Christmas invitational last weekend. The atmosphere on deck was incredible. Numerous AA standards were achieved. We had a good number of finalists. It was a tough meet for some swimmers who managed to swim 16 events. Liam Robins achieved is Eastern National Standard in two events. The 10 and unders swam with a lot of energy. A tremendous amount of best times were achieved. There was also several top 3 finishes. Great Job! GO BIG FINS!!

11-19-2015Regional Meet #2 @ BBF
A big congratulations to all the swimmers who participated at the Superhero swim meet this weekend! All the kids had great races and demonstrated great enthusiasm. The coaches are all very proud and excited to see whats to come with the rest of the season. Awesome second meet everyone !!
